Shree was born in Pokhara, Nepal. In these past 8 years, he has taught
computer science, IELTS and kindness. He earned a bachelor’s degree as a
double major in English and sociology from Tribhuvan University, Prithvi
Narayan Campus, Pokhara.
Before, starting his teaching career, Shree did lots of odd jobs: he painted
houses, sold clothes, translated Korean to Nepali and professionally operated a GoPro
camera.
In 2014, Shree started his teaching career at Motherland Secondary School,
Pokhara. After teaching computer science for several years, he got the
opportunity to teach kindness. In October 2021, it was decided by Narayan
Baral, Principal, that it was time to implement a kindness curriculum.
It took time.
In December 2022, they chose Shree to take over the kindness class
assignment.
Shree worked closely with Dave sir and Durga Maya ma’am in a
mentor-teacher student-teacher relationship. There were lots of good lessons
and lessons that could be improved. There were lots of discussion and
reflection. What was implemented was a mixed curriculum of Learn Kind,
internet resources and original lesson planning based on SEL competencies.
Currently, Shree serves as the charter president of Kindness Club Pokhara, our
club serving the greater Pokhara community. It is
targeted to college-aged adults. He is passionate and energetic in guiding and
empowering youth to help and love their community.
Shree says, “one should not just be academically wise but also know the what,
why and how of life.” He continues, “be passionate about learning, caring for
those around you and do something to make this place, our Earth, a better
place.”
