Bikal Sherchan is the Co-founder, Director and Senior Partner at the National
Institute for Leadership Development (NILD) Pvt Ltd, in Kathmandu with Mrs
Usha Malla Singh. He brings over 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur,
leader and manager to personal and leadership coaching and development. He
has traveled to the USA and India to attend dozens of training courses and
workshops on personal transformational technologies. Bikal sir, as students
would call him, is well known in Pokhara, however, for being the man who
founded Mount Annapurna High School. In 1979, it was the first English-
medium school in Pokhara. It was International Year of the Child. And it was
revolutionary and trendsetting.
Today, Bikal is a Certified Practitioner in Neurolinguistic Programming by the
Goa NLP, India, and is also trained as a Certified NLP Coaching Master from the
Makani Academy, Cyprus (Affiliated with the International Coach Training
Association). He is a meditator, a mindfulness meditator, and teacher inspired
by the philosophy and teachings of Osho (Acharya Rajneesh), S.N. Goenka’s
Vipassana Meditation, Brahma Kumaris Raj Yog Center and Thich Nhat Hanh.
Bikal completed the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction training course by Dave
Potter. The course is modeled on the
program founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical
School.
Bikal is a Founder of Kindness Club Thakali and an Advisor to Kindness Club
Pokhara. He has founded or co-founded numerous groups promoting tourism,
health, education, entrepreneurship and service in Pokhara. He holds an MA in
Sociology from Agra University, Uttar Pradesh, India.
Currently, Bikal is learning, practicing, designing, and leading workshops
incorporating mindfulness and social-emotional learning for corporate,
educational and social leaders to enhance focus, clarity, creativity and
compassion in leaders.
